Superior Lake Resources has commenced drilling the first of three planned holes at its Superior Lake Zinc Project in Ontario, Canada.

The Pick North hole is the first drill hole and will be drilled to approximately 700 metres. Following this, a down-hole transient electromagnetic geophysics survey will be completed to confirm the target, its strike, dip and plunge.

This process has commenced and the 1900-metre drill program is expected to be completed in October.

This target is located approximately 500 metres from the Pick Lake deposit and was identified from a lithogeochemistry review and a fixed loop transient electromagnetic survey completed earlier this year.

The area was of particular interest due to its proximity to the known mineralisation and infrastructure.

Superior Lake’s core focus is on redeveloping its flagship zinc project. Superior Lake Zinc is a high-grade zinc deposit with a JORC resource of 2.35 megatons at 17.7 per cent zinc, 0.9 per cent copper, 0.38 g/t of gold and 34 g/t of silver.

Once drilling and the DHTEM survey are completed at the Pick North target, the company will commence testing of the next geophysical target.
