Verbrec Ltd (ASX:VBC) has been awarded a $4.2 million contract from Flinders Ports to complete the Electrical System Redevelopment Project at the Inner Harbour’s M Berth Facility.

The latter will be a critical facility for bulk liquid customers, enabling oil and fuel unloading into South Australia, and work on the project to begin this month. Completion is then expected by April 2026.

Central to this will be the rehabilitation of electrical and fire control systems, hazardous
area equipment, electrical distribution, and main switchboards at the M Berth Facility, and will entail demolition, fabrication, supply, installation, refurbishment, monitoring, inspecting, testing, quality assurance, and commissioning activities.

Chief executive officer Mark Read said the project would become an important part of Verbrec’s portfolio.

“We are excited to commence works on the Electrical System Redevelopment Project at Inner Harbour, Port Adelaide, aligned with Flinders Ports commitment to the ongoing investment in port infrastructure and equipment,” he said.

“By undertaking this important upgrade to electrical and fire control systems, this
project, when successfully delivered, will provide for reliable site operations at the
M Berth Facility for the foreseeable future.

“Our South Australian engineering team should be proud of their successful delivery
of the design phase of this project which has led to the award of the next phase
of this important scope of work.”

Verbrec shares are trading at 13.7 cents through Friday lunchtime.
