  • Australian Mines has initiated the largest resource extensional drilling program to date at the Flemington project in NSW
  • Up to 10,000 metres of drilling has been planned
  • Results are expected to become available in early 2020

Australian Mines has initiated the largest resource extensional drilling program to date at its Flemington project in NSW.

This new program follows the successful resource expansion drilling at Flemington which resulted in the tripling of the cobalt mineralisation footprint.

It also confirmed that the high-grade cobalt zone in the project continues to remain open along strike.

“This latest phase of extensional drilling at Flemington represents the largest program ever completed over the project area and is a clear indication on Australian Mines’ confidence in the project’s ability to represent a future potential second production source of nickel and cobalt sulphate,” Managing Director Benjamin Bell said.

“Our previous drilling program has already tripled the. cobalt mineralisation footprint and provide a strong foundation from which a large-scale economic resource may evolve,” he added.

Flemington is located 370 kilometres west of Sydney and represents a second potential cobalt production source for Australian Mines.

There is a significant potential to materially expand the current mineral resource with only one per cent of the area having been tested for nickel and cobalt.

Flemington also benefits from a secured, permanent water allocation to support any future mining operations.

Up to 10,000 metres of drilling is planned as part of this resource extensional drilling program and the additional west and southwest extensions will be targeted.

Results from this program are expected to become available in early 2020.
