Welcome to the latest HotCopper Capital Compass, where we’ve spoken to Prospect Resources (ASX:PSC) executive finance director Ian Goldberg to discuss the company’s Zambia-based Mumbezhi project, right when copper prices are at record prices and proving to be resilient to macro-economic headwinds.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

“When we brought Mumbezhi two years ago, we had 240,000 tonnes of copper; then over two drill seasons we’ve taken that to just over a million tonnes of copper equivalent,” Mr Goldberg told HotCopper this week.

“If you look at where we are, east and west, we have two very big operations. Both have resources over a billion tonnes and grading similar to ours.

“That gives us a sense that that particular region is very prosperous.”
