  • Antimony intercepted 60m above the delineated MRE
  • Cumulative antimony mineralisation exceeding 100m
  • The broad antimony intervals continue to demonstrate the scale and continuity of antimony mineralisation
  • Drilling continues to increase confidence in the company’s geological and mineralisation models

Sun Silver (ASX: SS1) has received further positive antimony assays from its ongoing 2026 exploration program at the Maverick Silver project in Nevada, USA.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week.

Complete assay results from hole MV0004, drilled within the south-central portion of the current mineral resource returned a broad 89m intersection grading 70 grams per tonne (g/t) silver equivalent (AgEq) from 126.5m.

The result included a higher-grade interval of 38.3m at 100 g/t AgEq from 134m and a “bonanza” section of 0.8m at 1,296 g/t AgEq.

MD, Andrew Dornan, said the result demonstrates the continued presence of discrete zones of very high-grade silver mineralisation within the broader mineralised system.

“MV0004 is another strong result from Maverick Silver, returning almost 90 metres of continuous silver-gold mineralisation and reinforcing the scale and continuity of the current resource, Mr Dornan said.

“Importantly, the hole also intersected extensive antimony mineralisation commencing approximately 60 metres above the current MRE and extending across more than 100 metres of cumulative intervals.”

MV0004 also intercepted extensive antimony mineralisation, starting from approximately 70.6m downhole, approximately 60m above the current MRE, and extending through substantial portions of the mineralised sequence.

The hole returned two broad antimony intervals of 43.7m at 0.06% and 64.7m at 0.06%, including higher-grade zones of 19.3m at 0.10% and 16.5m at 0.10%, respectively.

Mr Dornan said the results continue to demonstrate that antimony mineralisation at the Maverick Silver Project occurs over substantial widths and extends beyond the boundaries of the currently delineated silver-gold MRE.

“The company considers this particularly encouraging given antimony’s strategic importance to the United States and its potential to represent an additional critical-mineral opportunity alongside Maverick Silver’s globally significant silver inventory.”

The company is continuing to assess the distribution, continuity and potential scale of antimony mineralisation across the project as additional multi-element assays are received from the ongoing drilling program.

SS1 was up 1.80% to $1.13. Mkt cap $204.2M.
