Mamba Exploration (ASX: M24) took off after it received firm commitments from strategic investors, existing shareholders and supportive institutional investors for a placement to raise $6 million.

The company also named Peter Cook as strategic adviser and advised that it has entered into a binding earn-in agreement over the Poison Hills project.

Executive director, Matt Freedman, said the placement caps a period of strong momentum for Mamba. Recently, the company reported the recovery of the historical drillhole database for Meeka East, returning 165 copper intersections in 47 drill holes at the Copper Hills and Lady Alma prospects.

“Mamba now has a growing presence in the region, strong backers and a clear direction. We are grateful to our new and existing shareholders for their support.”

M24 jumped 53.3% to 6.9¢.

Patagonia Lithium (ASX: PL3) was popular on HotCopper forums after successfully completing a 72 hour pump test to determine the performance of the aquifer at the Formentera project in Argentina.

The results are consistent with the company’s other proximate wells.

“We achieved strong pumping results from well 8 on the Cilon concession,” executive chairman, Phillip Thomas, said.

“The recovery, after pumping finished, was exceptionally fast. The water level measured at start was 3.64m and after the pump was shut down was 52.7 m depth showing the aquifer performs very well near the surface not at 300 or 400m depth.”

PL3 was up 20.0% to 12.0¢.

Artrya (ASX: AYA) took off on news it had signed an agreement with US-based Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health).

John Konstantopoulos, co-founder and CEO of Artrya, said the deal with HH Health, a SAPPHIRE Study participant, is a milestone for the company’s progress.

“A key objective of SAPPHIRE is to establish deep clinical engagement with US cardiovascular centres and create a pathway toward broader commercial adoption of Salix®. Huntsville becoming the first SAPPHIRE participant to enter into a five-year commercial agreement demonstrates that strategy in action,” he said.

AYA was up 12.5% to $3.86.

Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 bounced back today, gaining 37.50 points or 0.44% to 8,651.90 after setting a new 50-day low. This index is virtually unchanged over the last five days and year to date.

Elsewhere, there were 188,421 registered deaths in 2025, an increase of 1,153 since 2024, according to new data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

The standardised death rate decreased to 4.955 deaths from 5.078 in 2024.

Infant deaths increased by 62 deaths to 1,019.

There were 188,421 deaths registered in 2025, an increase of 1,153 from 2024.

There were more male deaths (98,762) than female deaths (89,659), resulting in a sex ratio of 110.2 male deaths for every 100 female deaths.
