In this video, Askari Metals Executive Director Gino D’Anna outlines the company’s battery metals, copper and gold exploration strategy across Namibia and Ethiopia, highlighting the potential of its under-explored projects and what investors can expect from upcoming exploration and drilling programs.
Askari Metals is focused on battery metals in Namibia, alongside copper and gold assets in Ethiopia, with the company targeting under-explored regions where it believes modern exploration techniques can unlock previously overlooked opportunities.
- Namibia provides exposure to a range of battery and critical minerals, with the company’s ground covering tin, lithium, tantalum and rubidium.
- The company is strategically positioned along strike of an existing operating tin mine in Namibia, providing Askari with the opportunity to compare the geology and mineralisation on its ground with an established operation.
- Recent trenching in Namibia identified shallow, high-grade mineralisation across tin, lithium, cesium, rubidium and tantalum, highlighting the poly-metallic nature of the opportunity.
- Askari says it is one drill campaign away from testing whether its Namibian ground hosts mineralisation of a similar scale and pedigree to that being successfully mined nearby.
- In Ethiopia, historical exploration and drilling has identified at least 10 higher-priority gold targets at the Nejo project, which surrounds the 1.7-million-ounce Tulukapi mine.
- An initial 3,000m drilling program is planned in Ethiopia, forming part of a broader 10,000m program, subject to receiving the required drilling permits.
- The Nejo project also hosts a high-grade copper opportunity at Kata, where historical drilling returned 14m at more than 2% copper and ended in mineralisation.
- Askari is also evaluating additional opportunities that could complement its existing portfolio while providing greater geographic and jurisdictional diversification
We’re now at a stage, okay, we’ve got the targets, they’re high confidence. We’ve done the trenching work… Now we want to drill. We want to demonstrate to our shareholders as well that we are active, we are drilling. That’s what everybody’s looking forward to.
