Aeon Metals (AML) has received assay results from its 2021 step-out drilling program at the Walford Creek Copper-Cobalt Project in Queensland.

Three holes were drilled to assess the potential for further mineralisation west of the existing Marley zone, which is known as the Le Mans zone.

Drilling at Le Mans has identified the presence of a 60-metre thick mineralised sequence within the upper PY1 unit.

Significant intercepts include 60 metres at 0.49 per cent copper equivalent from 288 metres including eight metres at 1.16 per cent copper equivalent from 309 metres.

These results provide a high priority target for Aeon’s upcoming drilling program, where the copper zone adjacent to the Fish River Fault will be tested.

Additionally, the results demonstrate potential for the continuation of thick mineralisation continuing in the PY1 unit.

“Aeonis delighted to confirm the potential for the extension of mineralisation directly adjacent to the existing resource at Marley,” CEO and Managing Director Dr Fred Hess commented.

“Using the extensive drilling and geophysical knowledge at Walford Creek, our geological model is able to direct our exploration targeting with great accuracy and the intercepts discussed in the release confirm its utility.”

“Armed with a proven geological model, we are very confident that further value can be added by continuing exploration in the 2022 field season along the fault.”

Shares in Aeon were down 4.08 per cent on the market and were trading at 4.7 cents at 12:00 pm AEDT.
