Aeris Resources has struck high-grade copper at its Murrawombie underground mine. The intersections have extended the current Murrawombie Mineral Resource.

Aeris recently completed a diamond drilling program which targeted extensions to the dominant mineralised lode (lode 102) outside of the current Mineral Resource. The company is pleased with the results along strike and down plunge.

Notable results include 6.25 metres at 4.64 per cent copper and 12.75 metres at 3.62 per cent copper from two of the holes.

These recent drill results extend the massive sulphide mineralisation up to 60 metres along strike, beyond the northern extents of the Mineral Resource.

Copper sulphide mineralisation was intersected beyond the 102 lode, which contains the majority of the Mineral Resource base, further into the Hanging Wall. These drill intersections indicate the potential to expand Murrawombie with additional exploration.

“The latest drilling results from Murrawombie are very promising and demonstrate the prospectiveness for further high-grade extensions along strike to the north and down plunge,” Executive Chairman Andre Labuschagne said.

Murrawombie is an underground mine within the Tritton Copper Operations Project. It is one of four underground mines. These include Murrawombie, the Tritton Underground Mine, Budgerygar Deposit Conceptual Underground Mine and the Avoca Tank Underground Mine.

The Murrawombie deposit is the largest concentration of copper metal outside the Tritton deposit with a Mineral Resource of 5.4 megatons at 1.5 per cent copper for 84 kilotons of copper metal.

The next step is for the drill rig to complete two wide spaced holes to intersect the 102 lode horizon 150 metres along strike and 190 metres down plunge beyond the known extents.

Results from the wide spaced drilling will help Aeris understand the potential of the larger mineralised footprint and assist with planning future exploration.

The latest drill results will be included in an updated Mineral Resource estimate for Murrawombie, which will be completed before the end of the current quarter.
