Alligator Energy (AGE) has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer as approval is received to begin drilling at the Samphire Uranium project in South Australia
Although an exact start date is yet to be determined, Andrea Marsland-Smith will take on the role during the first quarter of 2022.
Dr. Marsland-Smith has a strong background in the uranium sector, having worked for companies such as Uranium Equities, Areva and Sinosteel Uranium SA, and in her most recent role as a member of the executive management team of Heathgate Resources.
As the operator of the Four Mile ISR uranium project in South Australia, in 2008 she received AMEC’s Explorer of the Year Award for the Four Mile Uranium discovery.
AGE said with Ms Marsland-Smith wealth of industry knowledge and experience in leadership, coaching, mentoring and strong commercial business acumen she is the ideal person to lead and guide the Samphire Uranium project.
The appointment follows approval from the SA Department for Energy and Mining for the company’s Exploration Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation for proposed drilling operations at the Samphire Uranium Project.
Alligator Energy has previously reported that the contracted drilling company is currently coordinating the team’s access into South Australia, and work is anticipated to start during the first week of November.
On the market, shares were trading 2.4 per cent lower at 8 cents at 2pm AEDT.
