Amani Gold (ANL) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Kebigada South-East prospect within its Giro project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This round of drilling will target anomalies in the area outlined by induced polarisation surveys and soil sampling.

The company has defined an anomaly area with high chargeability and low resistivity, and its sampling work revealed an in-situ gold anomaly of 200 parts per billion.

Amani will carry out the fresh drilling program at 50-metre intervals along three lines, one of which has not been previously drilled.

Once drilling is completed at Kebigada South-East, the drill rig will move to the Congo Ya Sika prospect.

Previous drilling at Congo Ya Sika in 2018 returned gold mineralisation including 14 metres at 5.1 grams of gold per tonne (g/t gold), as well as three metres at 42.1 g/t gold from 10 metres which included two metres at 62.65 g/t gold.

This new round of RC drilling follows diamond drilling at the Kebigada deposit, and Amani CEO Conrad Karageorge said the company was very excited to progress exploration drilling at the neighbouring deposits.

Amani Gold shares last traded at 0.2 cents on September 2.
