Audio-visual distributing solutions company Ambertech (AMO) has secured a $5.1 million contract with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The deal is to replace ABC’s video ingest and playout systems with an EVS solution.

Ambertech provides high technology equipment solutions to the professional broadcast, film, defence and law enforcement, recording, live production, residential and commercial installation, and home entertainment markets.

EVS provides instant media ingest/playout solutions to integrate live editing, instant replay, highlights editing, slow and super motion control.

The deal is valued at $5.1 million, including a $1.5 million support contract over a five-year period.

“It is expected that the company will recognise $2.8million in revenue for the 2019/20 financial year,” the company told the market.

Under the contract, Ambertech will upgrade existing EVS production and tape systems to provide the broadcaster with innovative solutions that deliver greater agility, reliability and responsiveness.

Managing Director Peter Amos says the ABC contract win is continuing a long-standing relationship with the company.

“The project will be completed over a six-month period and will involve deployment and integration within the ABC’s Ultimo and Southbank facilities, backed by a five-year service level agreement,” he added.

On market close, Ambertech is up 17.5 per cent and is trading at 4.7¢ per share.
