AML3D (AL3) has received an additional purchase agreement to develop and produce 3D printed components for the Boeing Company in St Louis, Missouri.
Under the $140,000 agreement, AML3D will supply to Boeing various high-strength aluminium test pieces and structural components typically used for structural “fly” components
The agreement follows after a key visit and detailed technical discussions by Boeing’s Director of Global Additive Manufacturing in March.
AML3D will manufacture the components to be supplied to Boeing using its proprietary wire additive manufacturing (WAM) process.
These artifacts and structural components to be supplied under the deal will be used for testing and validation purposes that will form the basis of near-term future work.
AML3D Managing Director Andrew Sales said the purchase contract from Boeing cemented the company’s relationship with one of the world’s largest aerospace companies.
“This purchase contract is a major step in our journey and will provide the company further opportunity to now validate and produce parts on time and to specification for a high-quality tier-one customer,” Mr Sales said.
“[This] is further endorsement of the adoption of our proprietary WAM 3D printed solutions and core to our strategy for the company in the coming years.”
Boeing has developed, manufactured and serviced commercial aeroplanes, defence products and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries.
Shares in AML3D were up 38.5 per cent and trading at 9 cents per share at midday AEST.
