Andromeda Metals (ADN) has appointed Joe Ranford as Operations Director and Project Manager for the Poochera Halloysite-Kaolin Project in South Australia.

In this role, he will take control of the project and propel it through the next stages, such as the completion of the definitive feasibility study and the submission of a mining lease application.

Joe is a mining engineer who has significant experience in senior management roles in both domestic and international companies.

Most recently, Joe was Chief Operating Officer for Canadian-based company Nordic.

In this role, he re-established mining operations and brought the project back into production from care and maintenance.

Before that, he was Operations Manager for Terramin Australia, and in this role, he managed the operational and technical components of the Angas Zinc Mine and supported the approval process for the Bird in Hand Gold Project.

The Board of Andromeda is confident that Joe’s experience and expertise will allow the Poochera Project to progress through the evaluation stage and into production.

The Poochera Halloysite-Kaolin Project is located 635 kilometres west of Adelaide in South Australia.

Due to the occurrence of high-quality halloysite-kaolin across the project area, it is considered a region of global significance.

Halloysite (an aluminosilicate clay material) is a rare derivate of kaolin (a clay mineral) and it is primarily used in ceramics, porcelain, and fine china to add whiteness and strength.

On the back of this news, shares in Andromeda are down a slight 1.64 per cent in mid-morning trade and are selling for six cents each at 10:31 am AEST.
