Following the successful production of battery quality lithium carbonate – Anson has begun extracting and recovering additional chemical products.

Initial test work recovered 70 per cent of the bromine, 89 per cent of the iodine and 89 percent of the boron.

Anson is now assessing producing further chemical products from Paradox Brine in order to extract maximum economics.

Paradox Brine has a unique composition compared to other brine projects and this provides an opportunity to reduce operating costs.

It consists of 1,317 placer claims 87 of which are subject to an earn-in agreement and the remaining 1,230 are fully owned by Anson.

It sits on a significant geological structure and has many favourable characteristics such as 500 ppm lithium, high concentrates of iodine, bromine, potassium and boron, and the potential to extract oil and gas from other geological zones.

The next stage of test work will focus on the extraction and recovery of the bromine which will be performed by De Dietrich Process Systems. The work will also include the estimation of the operating and capital costs for the commercial plant which will be incorporated into future feasibility studies.

This plant will produce lithium carbonate to supply to lithium ion battery cathodes.

Anson is down 2.08 per cent with shares priced at 4.7 cents and a market cap of $26.39 million.
