Antipa Minerals (AZY) has identified several zones of new gold-copper mineralisation while undertaking greenfield drilling at its Minyari Dome project in Western Australia.

The 144 square kilometre project is located in WA’s Paterson Province and the company is undertaking a greenfield exploration program to test the presence of gold and/or copper within four kilometres of the Minyari and WACA existing mineral resources.

Ongoing reverse circulation drilling is focused on 14 targets which have been based on results from ultra-detailed drone magnetic and GAIP surveys completed earlier this year.

Of those targets, the first drill hole at one reportedly intersected 27 metres at 1.3 grams of gold per tonne and 0.1 per cent copper from 131 metres. This included seven metres at 3.9 g/t from 133 metres, and one metre at 19.9 g/t.

With the discoveries close to surface, Antipa’s Managing Director, Roger Mason said the company is confident that similar nearby geophysical and air core anomalies could deliver further success.

The near surface discoveries are said to remain open in all directions and AZY is in the process of undertaking follow up reverse circulation drilling.

Shares were trading four per cent up at 5.2 cents at 10:45 am AEDT.
