Archer Materials (AXE) has achieved a key technological milestone in the development of its CQ quantum computing qubit processor chip technology.

The company has achieved electronic transport in a single qubit at room temperature, an important step in the development of the 12CQ chip.

CQ is a world-first qubit processor, which Archer is aiming to build for quantum computing operations at room-temperature and integration into modern electronic devices.

“In building our 12CQ chip for room temperature operation and integration onboard electronic devices, we are pushing the boundaries of what can be done technologically in the world today,” CEO Dr Mohammad Choucair said.

“The importance of achieving electronic transport in a single qubit at room temperature cannot be overstated as it will have a positive and broad impact on the development of the 12CQ chip,” he added.

Last month, the computing chip secured a Japanese patent, which was another major milestone for the company.

Notably, Archer is one of a few players developing a qubit processor chip in the emerging multi-billion-dollar quantum computing industry.

On the market today, Archer is up 26.3 per cent and is trading at $1.01 per share at 11:05 am AEDT.
