Argosy Minerals (AGY) has almost fully completed development works at its Rincon lithium project within Argentina’s Salta province.

The company announced this morning it had reached the 94 per cent completion mark for total works at the 2000-tonne-per-annum lithium carbonate production operation.

The operation’s major works are made up of three main phases: design, construction and commissioning.

The design phase works were fully completed late last year, and construction phase works are 97 per cent complete. Plant commissioning works are yet to reach the halfway mark at 45 per cent completion.

Argosy said it remained on-budget and expected to begin production of battery-quality lithium carbonate in the coming months.

“The company is very excited with our current progress at site and upcoming major milestones, whilst also positively advancing with our strategic developments toward the 10,000tpa expansion operation,” Managing Director Jerko Zuvela said.

“Becoming the next commercial scale lithium carbonate production operation and transforming into a cashflow generator will lead to a significant near-term growth phase for the company.”

Argosy Minerals is currently progressing dry and wet commissioning tests and finalising the
procurement of first-fill process reagents ahead of production. Once it completes construction works, plant commissioning, and production testworks, the company will ramp up operations at the project.

Company shares last traded at 40 cents on July 29.
