The ASX200 closed up 0.36% at 7,997 points.

The Energy sector lead the market higher, up 1.6%, followed by IT, up 1.4%, and Discretionary, up 1.3%.

Materials was the only sector in the red, down 0.6%.

In the Green

Ainsworth Game Technology (ASX:AGI) closed up 31.1% on news it will be acquired by Novomatic, an Austrian company. Under the deal AGT shareholders will receive $1 cash per share, representing a 35% premium to last Thursday’s closing price.

Ainsworth Game Technology closed at 97 cents.

Orthocell (ASX:OCC) closed up 8.5% after receiving a tick from the FDA of Thailand for its flagship nerve repair product. The approval paves the way for commercial distribution in Thailand.

Orthocell closed at $1.40.

Lynas Rare Earths (ASX:LYC) closed up 3.2% on release of its quarterlies. The company reported Q3 sales revenue of $123 million and sales receipts of $124.6 million. This was an increase of 21.5% and 15.7%, respectively, over the prior year.

Lynas Rare Earths closed at $8.56.

In the Red

Brambles (ASX:BXB) closed down 5.0% on reports of a 3% increase in sales revenue for the first nine months of FY25, driven by a 2% price realisation and 1% volume growth. The company’s performance was impacted by adverse weather in the US and broader uncertainty.

Brambles closed at $19.83.

Liontown Resources (ASX:LTR) closed down 4.4% after a broker note by Macquarie confirmed value at current levels, but was not optimistic enough to upgrade the stock to a buy rating. Macquarie responded to the company’s quarterly update by retaining its neutral rating and 65 cents price target.

Liontown Resources closed at 54 cents.

Pantoro (ASX:PNR) closed down 10.8% following the gold miner’s quarterly update. The company says its production for the quarter was below guidance at around 18,330 ounces of gold.

Pantoro wrapped up at $2.72.
