ASX Market Close: Reject Shop rockets ~ 110% after Canadian offer | March 27, 2025

The ASX200 closed down 0.38% at 7,969 points.

Energy was the best performing sector, up1%, followed by Staples, up 0.4%, and Materials, up 0.33%.

Real Estate was the biggest loser, down 2.2%, followed by IT, down 2%, and Discretionary, down 1%.

In the Green

Core Lithium (ASX:CXO) closed up 5.2% following the release of an update on its Finniss Lithium Operation.

Core Lithium closed at 8 cents.

Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX:NEU) finished up 0.67% on news the company is developing a new product to treat infant injuries when a baby’s brain does not receive enough oxygen or blood flow before or shortly after birth.

Neuren Pharmaceuticals finished at $12.01.

And, Reject Shop (ASX:TRS) has closed up 109% after investors flocked to the stock as the company received a takeover offer. Canada’s Dollarama (TSX:DOL) cut a deal to buy Reject Shop for $259 million.

Reject Shop closed at $6.60.

In the Red

Domain (ASX:DHG) closed down 4.9% after CoStar Group (NASDAQ:CSGP) improved its takeover offer, from $4.20 cash per share to $4.43 per share.

Domain wrapped up at $4.25.

Pro Medicus (ASX:PME) closed down 7.8% after being swept up in today’s tech sell-off. Broker Macquarie retained its “neutral” rating and its $257.40 price target.

Pro Medicus pulled up stumps at $210.00.

And, WiseTech (ASX:WTC) closed down 2% as investors reacted to Australian Super selling its entire $580M stake in the company.  AusSuper’s move came due to “governance concerns” and worries about the board.

Wisetech finished the day at $83.66.
