Futures indicate the ASX will open positively this morning, buoyed by tech gains in the US and the encouraging news of a drop in oil prices.

Here are some ASX-listed companies with news out today:

Kazia Therapeutics (KZA) will present a late-breaking oral presentation at the 2023 Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) annual meeting for its drug candidate Paxalisib.

The company will discuss data from its ongoing phase two study, which uses the drug to treat diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and other diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs).

“The Society for Neuro-Oncology conference is a high-profile meeting where many of the best ideas are discussed in brain tumour research,” KZA CEO John Friend said.

KZA shares last traded at 17 cents.

Gladiator Resources (GLA) has kicked off an exploration program at its flagship SWC target at the company’s Mkuju uranium project in Tanzania.

So far, mineralisation has been found in the first trench, with the region a known hotspot for sandstone-hosted uranium deposits, including the 125Mlb uranium oxide Nyota deposit.

Trenching will be followed by drilling in early 2024.

GLA shares last traded at 2 cents.

Meanwhile, Ev Resources (EVR) has finished an initial geological review of its La Cienaga copper-gold project in the Buckskin Mountains of West-Central Arizona.

Synthetic sampling was used to collect 119 samples, with some assaying at 0.88 per cent copper, 2.51 grams per tonne of gold and 5.61 grams per tonne of silver.

The project covers ground in the Cienaga sub-district, which accounts for 85 per cent of all the gold produced from the Buckskin District, although no mining has occurred since the 1920s.

EVR shares last traded at 1 cent.

ChemX Materials (CMX) has delivered a 99.99 per cent High purity alumina (HPA) result from using its 100 per cent-owned HiPurA chemical feedstock process at its Micro plant in WA.

The company achieved these results across 66 elements critical for the global battery and energy transition market.

“Importantly, data obtained during the optimisation of the Micro Plant will be included in the current Pilot Plant (design), which will produce sufficient sample volumes for global customer qualification,” CMX CEO Peter Lee said.

CMX shares last traded at 9 cents.

And, Vulcan Energy (VUL) has expanded the company’s lithium mineral resource associated with its Zero Carbon Lithium project based in Germany, marking a significant increase in Europe’s largest lithium resource.

Vulcan continued sub-surface work at its Zero Carbon Lithium project in Germany, which includes new well data, new 3D seismic data and more.

The company noted it would complete its phase one bridging study in November to allow phase one financing to formally commence.

VUL shares last traded at $2.91.
