Futures suggest the ASX will open higher this week as banking chaos across the United States eases.

At home, this week’s focus will be on tomorrow’s federal budget release.

Here are some ASX-listed companies to look out for today:

Red 5 (RED) last month achieved a second consecutive month of record gold production at its King of the Hills (KOTH) mine in Western Australia.

RED produced 18,633 ounces of gold for April, up from 17,550 ounces in March.

The company expects May to be another solid month for mining but warned gold production would be lower due to planned maintenance shutdowns on the crusher and mill.

Shares in RED last traded at 18 cents.

Also in materials, Western Yilgarn (WYX) has reported “promising” results from ongoing exploration activities at its Bulga project in Western Australia.

A historical review by WYX of past air core and reverse circulation (RC) drilling carried out by BHP and St George defined “exciting” nickel intercepts, including 45 metres at 0.55 per cent nickel.

“It is extremely gratifying to see our methodical exploration approach paying off so soon in the program,” WYX Chair Peter Lewis said.

The company is planning an RC drilling campaign.

Shares in WYX last traded at 9 cents.

Construction robot company FBR’s (FBR) Hadrian X robot has achieved a new block laying speed record of more than 300 cement masonry blocks per hour.

The company reported it had surpassed the previous peak lay speed of the predecessor Hadrian 109.

FBR predicts the robot could be ready for commercial construction work within months.

Shares in FBR last traded at 4 cents.

Meanwhile, Minerals 260 (MI6) has started maiden exploration field work at its recently acquired Aston project in Western Australia.

The project consists of 13 exploration licenses covering an area of around 1700 square kilometres.

MI6 reports recent exploration successes by other companies in the region highlighted the potential for significant lithium and rare earth element (REE) mineralisation.

Shares in MI6 last traded at 45 cents.

Westpac Banking Corporation (WBC) has posted a $4 billion net profit in its half-yearly results for 1H23 – a rise of 22 per cent compared to 1H22.

The major bank confirmed the rise in profits stemmed from improving margins because of rising interest rates.

WBC also announced it was increasing its dividend to 70 cents per share, up 15 per cent on 1H22.

Shares in WBC last traded at $21.35.
