Audio Pixels (AKP) says it received its initial batch of speaker wafers on March 30, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The audio tech company’s technologies employ innovative techniques to generate sound waves directly from a digital audio stream using micro-electromechanical structures (MEMS).

Its technological platform for reproducing sound enables the production of next-generation speakers for the world’s top consumer electronics manufacturers.

The recently delivered batch of wafers incorporated minor design changes to the MEMS structure and its manufacturing process.

These changes will be made to ensure the devices are compliant while still diminishing sensitivity to manufacturing tolerances. Audio Pixels expects the return to compliancy will provide significant improvement to the acoustic output of its devices.

Further electromechanical and acoustic work is being conducted but the company assures that it’s taking all necessary precautions to protect its employees’ health and wellbeing.

Due to the pandemic, Audio Pixels has given itself at least two weeks to conduct its work.

Audio Pixels is up 23.6 per cent with shares trading for $11.25 each at 12:35 pm AEDT.
