Aurelia Metals (AMI) has received drilling results indicating extensions to the orebody within the Kairos deposit at the Peak Mine in New South Wales.

Intensive underground drilling underway at Kairos has been focusing on extensions to the deposit at depth and along strike to the north.

AMI is encouraged by the latest results which are said to extend the lateral and depth extent of the Kairos orebody.

In particular, one drillhole intersected 15 metres at 29.3 per cent lead and zinc, and 1.2 grams of gold per tonne (g/t), which the company said highlights the high grade nature of the mineralisation at the limit of drilling on the southern side of the deposit.

Mineralisation remains open down dip and along strike to the north, with Aurelia Metals planning further underground infill and extensional drilling.

The future drilling will be designed to target both resource upgrade drilling in the middle and upper portions of the lode and resource extensions at depth.

Previous results from Kairos were announced in June 2020, the company said in the past 12 months the focus has been on establishing development access to the lower portion of the deposit via a decline from its Perseverance deposit.

Recent activity has involved the establishment of ore drives, the primary ventilation system and secondary egress from the deposit.

Additionally, AMI said production has started from Kairos, with the first stope fired in the lower southern portion of the deposit on June 5, 2021.

Shares were trading 4.88 per cent higher at 43 cents at 10:37am AEST.
