Aurumin (AUN) will commence its first stage of exploration next week at its Central Sandstone gold project, with a vehicle-mounted auger drill program.

The company will complete 849 auger holes to test the bedrock interface for geochemical sampling.

It is aiming to test five targets generated by historical auger work as well as 36 other areas of interest.

AUN has received the necessary approvals and has secured an auger rig, with mobilisation planned for next week.

The company plans to build a comprehensive geochemical data set across the tenement to refine geological mapping and identify targets for mineralisation.

“This auger programme is an important step to maximise targets early on the mining tenements,” Managing Director Brad Valiukas said.

“There are already some good anomalies that we will infill, and, importantly, we are looking for new anomalies.

“We hope that this work will lead to new discoveries such as the Ridge, McClaren and McIntyre discoveries in 2020.”

Shares have ended the day 7.5 per cent lower at 18.5 cents each.
