Aurumin (AUN) has updated the mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its Shillington and Two Mile Hill deposits, which form part of the Central Sandstone project in WA.

The combined Shillington and Two Mile Hill open pit resources have increased to 4.03 million tonnes at 1.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 180,500 ounces.

The Two Mile Hill underground resource has also increased to 10.8 million tonnes at 1.6 g/t gold for 573,900 ounces.

These updates take the Central Sandstone project’s total resources to 18.5 million tonnes at 1.5 g/t gold for 881,300 ounces, at a 0.73 g/t cut-off.

Additionally, when including Johnson Range, the total Sandstone operations have an MRE of 19.3 million tonnes at 1.5 g/t gold for 946,000 ounces at a 1.0 g/t cut-off.

The updated MREs for Two Mile Hill and Shillington have incorporated results from recently-completed reverse circulation (RC) and a diamond drilling campaign in the area.

“This resource update is an important step in progressing the project and is in line with the potential identified when the Sandstone assets were acquired,” Managing Director Brad Valiukas said.

“We continue to see the Two Mile Hill underground deposit as a key part of the project going forward, with the scale to potentially underpin future production, and this has focussed our optimisation efforts.”

Aurumin now plans to undertake scoping-level work on the Two Mile Hill deposit. It will also conduct drilling at geochemical and structural targets across the Central Sandstone project.

The company is also continuing with soil sampling and expects to receive the first results from tenement E57/1140 next month.

AUN shares were up 3.7 per cent to trade at 8.4 cents at 3:28 pm AEDT.
