Ausmon Resources (AOA) has received all drill results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Stirling Vale exploration area in NSW.

1151 metres of RC drilling was undertaken with aims to test a 1.5-kilometre exploration target along the western side of the Stirling Vale Synform.

Holes SVRC001 and SVRC002 tested the outcropping siliceous zones while holes SVRC003 and SVRC010 tested the cobaltiferous zone.

Due to a shortage of staff, analysis at most laboratories are running behind schedule which resulted in the turnaround of over two months for results.

Both SVRC001 and SVRC002 were drilled to a depth of 80 metres and both intersected an alternating sequence of granite, psammite (sandstone), and gneiss (rock type).

SVRC001 returned a cobalt interval of one metre at 275 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 31 metres to 32 metres, while hole SVRC002 returned no significant cobalt.

Holes SVRC003 and SVRC004 were drilled to 80 metres and 164 metres, respectively.

Hole three intersected one metre at 0.12 per cent zinc between 15 metres and 16 metres, and hole four intersected one metre at 0.12 per cent zinc from 99 metres to 100 metres.

Holes five and six intersected mixed psammites and pelites above mixed granite and gneiss while holes seven and eight intersected pelite (rock type) then a gneiss sequence.

Hole six intersected three metres at 0.69 ppm gold from 56 to 59 metres, including one metre at 1.52 ppm gold from 57 to 58 metres, and hole seven intersected two metres at 0.44 per cent zinc from 12 to 14 metres and one metre at 0.26 per cent arsenic.

Up to 2.17 per cent zinc was encountered in hole SVRC010 and it is the only hole that intersected more than one per cent zinc.

These results show that Ausmon should evaluate the zinc potential along the western boundary of the Stirling Vale Synform.

Drilling will also be extended to the north, where previous work by Anglo American identified blue quartz, spotted fine-grained garnet, and pyrite.

Ausmon’s share price has dropped 33.3 per cent and shares are trading at 0.4 cents at 2:23 pm AEDT.
