AuTECO Minerals (ASX:AUT) makes senior appointments to accelerate project development

AuTECO Minerals (AUT) has made several senior management appointments in a move to accelerate the growth and development of its asset portfolio.

The portfolio is led by the rapidly growing and high-grade 2.23 million ounces (Moz) Pickle Crow gold project in Ontario, Canada.

The company said the new appointments ensures AuTECO has the experience and skills to make sure it can maximise the opportunity stemming from its immense exploration success.

The key new appointments included Darren Cooke as CEO, William Nguyen as Chief Financial Officer and joint Company Secretary, Tabatha LeBlanc as Vice President of Environment and Community and Juan Gutierrez as Group Chief Geologist.

Executive Chairman Ray Shorrocks stated that the appointment of these “high-quality managers” reflected the strength and ongoing potential of the company’s Pickle Crow Project.

“By bolstering our team with this experience, we are aiming to take full advantage of the opportunity offered by our high-grade resource and infrastructure and to accelerate our growth and development strategy.”

Mr Cooke is currently the company Chief Operating Officer having joined the company in February 2021 from Northern Star Resources.

His appointment takes effect July 1 and he will be paid $346,500 per annum with seven million performance rights, subject to annual review.

Mr Nguyen is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 13 years’ experience in the mining industry, including 8 years in the gold sector and commences his position on June 13.

He has been involved in the accounting and financial management across exploration activities, development projects and operating assets.

Ms LeBlanc is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years’ experience in mining related projects in Canada and is an expert in both federal Canadian and Ontario provincial government permitting requirements for mining projects.

Her position will commence in mid-June and she was the Manager of Sustainability in AuTECO.

Mr Gutierrez is a highly experienced geologist with over 16 years’ experience in a diverse range of mining projects globally and will commence mid-June.

He joined AuTECO after more than six years with Northern Star Resources where he most recently held the position of Geology Superintendent for the Yandal South operations.

Shares in AuTECO were down 0.98 per cent, trading at 5.1 cents as of 12:31 pm AEST.
