Azure Minerals (AZS) has reported multiple, deep high-grade massive nickel sulphide intersections following a diamond drilling program at the Ridgeline nickel-copper prospect in Western Australia.

Ridgeline forms part of the Andover project, which is 60 per cent owned by Azure in the state’s West Pilbara region.

The latest batch of stand-out assays included 6.3 metres grading 3.59 per cent nickel, 0.21 per cent copper and 0.17 per cent cobalt from 459.2 metres down-hole within an interval of 12.6 metres at 2.17 per cent nickel, 0.46 per cent copper and 0.1 per cent cobalt.

Another notable result was 4.9 metres at 3.5 per cent nickel, 1.34 per cent copper and 0.17 per cent cobalt from 542.8 metres down-hole within an interval of 14.5 metres at 1.84 per cent nickel, 0.88 per cent copper and 0.09 per cent cobalt.

Azure has drilled 32 holes at Ridgeline and encountered several distinct horizons of sulphide mineralisation.

It said geologically-targeted step-out drill hole collared about 140 metres along strike to the west of Ridgeline also intersected a three-metre-wide zone of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation, including two intervals of massive nickel-copper sulphides.

Surface fixed loop electromagnetic (EM) surveying work was in progress in the western extension area, with drilling and down-hole EM surveys continuing to test for additional accumulations of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation.

Ridgeline nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation starts about 200 metres along strike to the west of the Andover nickel-copper deposit and extends to the west for at least 600 metres, according to the company.

Azure said further planned exploration activities included drilling at the project’s Skyline and Seaview prospects to follow up on earlier nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation drill hits.

AZS shares were trading 5.8 per cent higher at 36.5 cents at 1:17 pm AEDT.
