Azure Minerals (AZS) has intersected multiple massive nickel-copper sulphides at the VC-07 East nickel-copper sulphide deposit.

The VC-07 East deposit is situated within the Andover Project which lies 35 kilometres southeast of Karratha in Western Australia.

The 70 square kilometre project covers the majority of the Andover Mafic-Ultramafic Intrusive Complex, with exploration demonstrating significant nickel, copper and cobalt sulphide mineralisation.

To date, 80 diamond holes, for 36,816 metres, have been drilled at the VC-07 prospect while eight have been drilled at VC-23.

Three rigs are currently drilling at VC-07 East with a primary focus on completing the drill-out ahead of the release of a maiden mineral resource in 2022.

Results have been received for a further 22 holes with a best result of 46.2 metres of nickel-copper sulphides from 528 metres.

Other results include 37.6 metres of nickel-copper sulphides from 313.2 metres, 21.8 metres of nickel-copper sulphides from 404.6 metres; and 20.1 metres of nickel-copper sulphides from 298.5 metres.

Intersections so far have expanded the east-west strike length of VC-07 East to more than 400 metres, extended the mineralisation up-dip to within 50 metres of surface and confirmed the mineralised system remains open down-dip to a depth of more than 500 metres.

Additional drilling is currently underway to better define the shallow mineralisation and bring it closer to surface.

Once drilling wraps up at VC-07 East, focus will move to expanding the VC-07 West mineralised zone to resource status.

Managing Director Tony Rovira is pleased with the ongoing success of the drilling program.

“We’re excited with the ongoing success of our resource definition drilling program which continues to significantly increase the size and scale of VC-07 East, with most holes into and around this deposit intersecting substantial nickel and copper sulphide mineralisation,” Mr Rovira commented.

“Importantly, recent drilling has returned multiple good looking nickel-copper sulphide intersections in the upper part of the deposit, bringing the nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation to within 50 metres of surface.”

“The company is also undertaking infill drilling of the deposit to close up the hole spacing and ensure that we can deliver a robust maiden mineral resource for Andover’s first nickel-copper sulphide deposit.”

Azure has ended the day a healthy 48.8 per cent in the green with shares trading at 30.5 cents.
