The explorer’s managing director, David A-Izzeddin, said early preparations to follow up the success of the initial step-out hole at Torpy’s are well advanced and are all ready to commence – once weather conditions permit.
Ballymore’s latest results have demonstrated the potential for multiple high-grade silver-lead-zinc lenses to occur within Torpy’s target near Chillagoe.
“The assay results from drill hole BTPRC007 are highly supportive of the Ballymore model that significant base metal mineralisation extends well beyond the main Torpy’s workings,” Mr A-Izzeddin said today.
He continued: “Intersecting a broad, shallow zone of silver-lead-zinc mineralisation at Little Torpy’s reinforces our interpretation that the greater Torpy’s area potentially hosts multiple high-grade ore lenses.”
Assays from BTPRC007 defined a broad, shallow intersection, with results featuring 30m at 58.4 g/t silver, 4.29% lead and 3.70% zinc from 22m.
The first step-out drill hole was completed 600m south of Torpy’s.
“This hole has delivered one of the broadest intersections reported to date and has confirmed significant mineralisation from 22m depth,” Mr A-Izzeddin said. “With several additional targets already identified in similar structural settings, we are looking forward to resuming drilling.”
Ballymore’s preliminary drilling program at Torpy’s comprised eight RC holes and one diamond drill hole for 1,259.6m. The initial six holes targeted geophysical and geological targets in the vicinity of the historic Torpy’s mine. Another two holes have also been completed to test the Little Torpy’s target, a set of shafts and pits located 600m south of the main Torpy’s workings.
An additional diamond drill hole was completed under the main Torpy’s workings to provide further structural information.
BMR has been steady today at 32cps.
