BBX Minerals (ASX:BBX) has reported “exceptional” recoveries of neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr) oxide from a standard ammonium sulphate leach test conducted on its Ema auger samples.

SGS laboratories in Brazil analysed the samples, which were extracted from four drill hole intercepts to assess the ionic absorption rare earth element (REE) content.

The results reveal the presence of high-grade Ionic REEs within the regolith in all holes, with the highest absolute values and recoveries observed in the sap-rock zone rich in kaolin overlying the fresh rhyolite.

BBX believes there is potential for higher-grade ionic-recoverable zones, which will be the focus of further exploration at greater depths.

“We are extremely pleased to see excellent sulphate leach test results with material from other areas within the Ema discovery,” BBX CEO Andre J. Douchane said.

“We are now fully committed to developing a qualified resource at Ema; however, we are also poised to place some effort toward reconnaissance at BBX’s Apui discoveries for which we hope to have assay results in a month or so.”

BBX is continuing its reconnaissance auger hole program in conjunction with infill drilling around the highest grade holes to the base of the sap-rock, aiming to generate the geological data needed for a mineral resource estimate (MRE).

BBX has received full assay results for 13 holes out of the 66 holes drilled to date.

BBX shares last traded at 2.6 cents.
