Beach Energy (BPT) has announced the appointment of Brett Woods as its Managing Director and CEO.

The company stated that Mr Woods would assume the role on February 21, 2024, or as mutually agreed upon.

With more than 25 years of experience in upstream oil and gas, including a decade at Santos, where he served in executive roles like Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Developments, Mr Woods brings significant industry expertise.

“Brett is an experienced oil and gas executive with a track record in strong leadership, delivering operational excellence, project delivery and value creation for shareholders.” Beach Chairman Glenn Davis said.

“Beach is in a great position with a strong portfolio of assets and a great balance sheet. I am excited to join at a time where I can help the team deliver the current projects, drive operational excellence and grow the business.” Beach Energy CEO and Managing Director Brett Woods said.

During the transitional phase, Mr Bruce Clement, an existing Non-Executive Director, will serve as interim CEO and continue in his role as an Executive Director.

This development follows the retirement of Morné Engelbrecht from the position today.

As part of his remuneration package, Mr Woods will receive a fixed annual salary of $1.35 million, along with other short and long-term incentives.

Beach Energy was down 2.1 per cent, trading at $1.63 at 12:50 pm AEST.
