Beam Communications (BCC) has received its fifth and largest order to date for 12,500 ZOLEO units from its joint venture company, ZOLEO Inc.

Prior to this, the largest order received since the launch of ZOLEO was for 7750 devices in September.

The significant order size follows a growing demand for the global messaging device in the North American and Australian markets.

ZOLEO allows users to send messages from outside of mobile coverage and the device is being sold through leading online and physical retailers, along with leading ecommerce sites.

In fact, Beam recently signed an agreement with Australia’s second-largest online retailer, Catch.com.au, to sell ZOLEO on the website.

The communications company also secured distribution agreements with Myer.com (MYR), Kogan.com (KGN), as well as major outdoor adventure store, Anaconda Group.

Additionally, Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) has become the latest major Canadian outdoor adventure retailer to start selling ZOLEO. MEC joins the world’s largest outdoor equipment retailer, BPS Direct, and leading Canadian retail chain, London Drugs, in offering the award-winning ZOLEO device.

Following the increased interest and awareness of ZOLEO, Beam and its joint venture partner, Roadpost Inc., expect to sign up more retail partners in the near future.

Delivery of the latest ZOLEO order is expected to be completed by April next year. This will take the total number of ZOLEO devices shipped since the March 2020 quarter to 34,500 units.

Beam is up 10.6 per cent and shares are trading at 36.5 cents at 1:43 pm AEDT.
