Beam Communications (BCC) has received a further order for its Iridium GO! device from satellite services company Iridium Communications.

This 5000 device order follows the record 7500 order received in July also placed by Iridium Communications.

This marked the largest order Beam has ever received for its Iridium GO! devices and since the product launch in 2014, a total of 62,500 unit orders have been placed.

Half of this new order will be delivered in Q3 FY22 with the remainder scheduled for delivery in the first half of FY23.

This new order is to meet the continuous consumer demand for Beam’s device.

Managing Director Michael Capocchi commented on the new order.

“We are seeing an increased demand for personal communication devices as the world reopens following the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr Capocchi said.

“Beam is well placed to capitalise on this trend, and the better-than-expected orders for Iridium GO! and the rising subscription revenues for ZOLEO, bode well for the group’s financial performance in FY2022 and beyond.”

The Iridium GO! device is a compact and portable device that supports global calling, SMS, email, SOS alerts, social networking and tracking capabilities.

It doesn’t require ground infrastructure to operate, meaning it isn’t affected by disruptive weather and can work wherever the user is whether it be land or sea, or on or off the grid.

Beam was down six per cent on the market with shares trading at 23.5 cents at 3:32 pm AEST.
