Beam Communications (ASX:BCC) ZOLEO device to be sold at Myer and on Amazon

Beam Communications (BCC) has signed an agreement to sell ZOLEO through the LiTMUS LAB in Myer’s flagship Sydney store from March 1.

LiTMUS LAB is a shop-in-shop concept store that showcases the best consumer technology products.

It showcases the best in innovation from around the world, allowing customers to discover, experience and test ZOLEO devices before making a purchase.

The ZOLEO device connects with phones and tablets to provide seamless global messaging that can work in and out of mobile coverage zones.

Users can message anywhere over satellite, cellular and wi-fi.

In terms of safety its SOS alerts are monitored 24/7, the GPS location can be shares with others, and it also enables quick and easy check-ins to let people know you are ok.

ZOLEO will first be available at Myer in Sydney’s CBD, this will then be followed by Myer Chadstone in Melbourne over the next few weeks and Myer Brisbane by May 1.

Additionally, ZOLEO will be available on the Myer website which is visited by a million consumers a month.

“We are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest technology trends and we believe that ZOLEO will resonate with consumers who value being in constant contact with friends and family, no matter where they are in Australia or the world,” LiTMUS LAB CEO Ashley Heath said.

“ZOLEO is the only satellite product we have seen that we believe has mainstream appeal, and we are excited to have the opportunity to showcase this portable messaging device at our stores,” he added.

Beam is also working on an agreement to sell ZOLEO through Amazon and eBay and the device should be available on these online shopping sites before the end of the next quarter.

The company has also signed a separate agreement with Leading Edge, which has over 950 independent retailers across Australia, to sell Beam’s Telstra-approved 4G IoT routers.

“It is exciting to see that our new products, ZOLEO and our 4G routers, are gaining traction in the market place,” Beam CEO Michael Capocchi commented.

“While online is a key channel for our products, consumers often want to be able to touch, feel and interact with a new product before making a purchasing decision,” he added.

Beam has ended the day 12.2 per cent in the green with shares priced at 23 cents apiece.
