Q. What first sparked your interest in geology?
At 15, Krista lived in a small Costa Rican village in the shadow of an active volcano. Watching gas and smoke rise from the Earth sparked a fascination with understanding the natural world.
Q. What drew you to natural hydrogen?
After around 25 years in oil and gas exploration, Krista became fascinated by natural hydrogen and the similarities between its geological systems and those she already understood. She went on to undertake a PhD focused on natural hydrogen exploration techniques.
Q. What’s the key to finding something new?
For Krista, it’s about looking at familiar ground differently and asking the right questions: “What have we missed? What are we not seeing?”
