Benz Mining Corp (BNZ) has discovered a third conductive trend that is parallel to and 200 metres in the footwall of the existing Eastmain resource envelope.

The Eastmain Gold Project is located on the Upper Eastmain Greenstone Belt in Quebec, Canada.

Previous explorers have identified multiple gold occurrences over a 10-kilometre-long zone along strike from the Eastmain Mine with limited but highly encouraging testing outside the existing resource area.

A downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey, conducted last year, explored a historical hole that was drilled well into the footwall of the Eastmain deposit.

The survey identified off-hole conductors 200 metres in the footwall of Zone A, which have been confirmed to represent a third trend following a recent review of the survey data.

“The last of the EM data for 2020 brought us a nice surprise. Since commencing exploration in July 2020, our exploration strategy has identified that there is now the potential for three mineralised trends,” CEO Xavier Braud said.

Benz plans to test the third trend in upcoming 50,000-metre drill program. Additional EM surveys will also be undertaken to identify more targets across other anomalous trends.

Benz’s shares are trading 14.2 per cent higher at $1.41 at 3:30 pm AEDT.
