Benz Mining (BNZ) has identified visible gold between 936.3 metres and 970.5 metres at the D Zone within the Eastmain Gold Project in Canada.

The Eastmain Project lies in the upper Eastmain Greenstone belt and is situated 8000 kilometres north of Montreal.

It covers an area of 8000 hectares and consists of 152 mineral claims and one industrial lease permit.

“This is an excellent result. Once again, we prove that our targeting method is extremely well suited to the style of mineralisation seen at Eastmain,” CEO Xavier Braud said.

“We are still working through a large gold system with multiple high-grade gold occurrences identified over 10 kilometres of strike.”

Shallow mineralisation was first identified at D Zone in the late 1980s by rock chip sampling and shallow drilling.

The continuity of the mineralisation was not sufficiently established and the area has been left without any further drilling since then.

In late 2020, Benz identified that previous drilling had only intersected a small part of the system.

D Zone has returned spectacular gold grades and widths with a best result of 7.9 metres at 35.9 grams of gold per tonne (g/t).

Mineralisation at D Zone has now been identified over 1.4 kilometres downdip with the plunge starting near-surface and extending to a vertical depth of 885 metres.

“We are very fortunate to have an exploration technique such as electromagnetics to target high-grade gold mineralisation. We now have enough confidence in our technique to drill 1000 metre holes or broad 100-metre step-outs and consistently hit gold mineralisation,” Mr Braud continued.

“Every conductor we have hit to date has intersected mineralisation making electromagnetics a great tool for rapidly assessing where the best parts of the gold system may be.”

Benz has ended the day 4.88 per cent in the green with shares trading at 64.5 cents for a $67.56 million market cap.
