Besra Gold (BEZ) has designed a drilling program at the Pejiru Gold Deposit, located within the Bau Project.

The drilling program is targeting extensions to the deposit, aimed at both upgrading the classification and increasing the overall resource inventory. This will support future potential development feasibility studies.

The program will include around 3000 metres of drilling, which is planned to commence in the next two to four weeks.

Previous intercepts at Pejiru includes 32 metres at 11.4 grams per tonne (g/t) and 55 metres at 2.3 g/t.

“Given the limited drilling density, and as reflected in the current Inferred Resource classification, the extent of mineralisation remains open at several locations both in the dip and strike directions,” the company said.

“Proposed targeted infill and step-out drilling is intended to better define the extent of
mineralisation as well as allow upgrading of the resource classification to enable their support in future feasibility studies.”

Notably, comprehensive geophysical coverage, from previous historical drilling results, has identified 16 potential sub-vertical feeder systems within the Pejiru Sector.

The Bau Goldfield is located in East Malaysia and has a long history of successful gold mining.

On market close for the day, Besra was down 3.03 per cent and is trading at 16 cents per share.
