Core recovered from Jugan Source: Besra Gold

Besra Gold (BEZ) has reported “excellent” high-grade gold from the final two holes drilled at its Jugan project in the Bau goldfields of Sarawak, Malaysia.

The company drilled 17 holes spanning 1800 metres of diamond core, striking more than 75 metres of mineralisation in one of the final holes and 45 metres in the other.

Results from the first of these two holes included 22 metres at 2.6 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from surface and 29 metres at 2.88 g/t gold from 45 metres.

The second returned 45 metres at 1.76 g/t gold from surface, including three metres at 2.9 g/t gold from one metre.

Besra said these results reflected the consistency of mineralisation from surface, involving grades substantially higher than average global grades, which had been previously estimated based on historical Jugan drilling results.

“The exceptional grade intercepts by JUDDH-95 and 98, virtually continuously from surface and nearly 200 metres NE of the main mineralised body outcrop, strengthen our belief that the 2021-2022 drilling program results will confirm higher global grades and further endorse the Jugan project’s stand-alone development potential,” Besra CEO Dr Ray Shaw said

The company will now complete Jugan’s geological model and future pit modelling following the receipt of assays.

Besra Gold last traded at 5.1 cents on October 20.
