Black Mountain Energy (BME) has completed seismic line clearing activities at its Valhalla project in the Canning Basin region of Western Australia.

The company said it now planned to begin seismic data acquisition, with an Odin 2D seismic program to result in 130 linear kilometres of additional data.

This data will provide further definition to the southwest portion of the exploration permit ahead of the company’s planned 2024 appraisal well program.

Black Mountain has mobilised its field seismic crew, which included traditional owner liaison officers and an environmental officer, to the Valhalla site in advance of seismic contractors to properly prepare for induction activities as well as the upcoming operations.

Further, the company said in conjunction with a number of traditional owners, it had undertaken additional heritage survey activities prior to clearing.

This was to ensure there would be no unintended impacts to sites of cultural significance, as well as to provide additional employment opportunities within the community.

Shares in Black Mountain last traded at seven cents on Friday, July 15.
