Blaze International (BLZ) has begun an initial aircore (AC) drilling program at the Mt Magnet South Project.

The project lies just south of the Mt Magnet mining province near Meekatharra in Western Australia and is currently owned by private explorer Eastern Goldfields Exploration (EGE).

However in early July, Blaze announced its intention to acquire a 100 per cent interest in three exploration licences from EGE for $1.12 million in cash and 7.5 million shares.

This upcoming program will consist of between 40 and 50 AC holes, drilled to test multiple target zones that were identified during recent auger sampling.

Drilling is expected to take roughly 10 days to complete, with samples to be sent off shortly after. Results are then expected within three to four weeks.

“The recent auger sampling has validated the previous work and identified a 4.5 kilometre zone of gold mineralisation which coincides with a prominent creek system and recent transported cover,” Technical Director Simon Coxhell said.

“The drill testing is designed to penetrate the surface regolith and test areas at depth for anomalous gold,” he added.

Blaze is down 3.03 per cent on the market, with shares trading at 3.2 cents at 1:40 pm AEDT.
