Blue Star Helium (BNL) has started a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for a processing facility at the Voyager prospect.

The move forms part of a broader strategy to fast track development of its helium portfolio in Las Animas County, Colorado.

The company is consulting with engineers to develop a plan, which includes the FEED study as well as plant asset optimisation and gathering system design.

Completion of the plan is expected in the third quarter of this year.

Applications to drill two appraisal and development wells at Voyager are expected to be filed this week. Discussions are in progress for an additional well to be drilled at the prospect in the coming months.

In addition to the FEED study for the Voyager prospect, the company will also shortly commence a FEED study for a facility near the Galactica, Pegasus and Serenity prospects.

Shares were trading steady at 2.7 cents each at 12:14 pm AEST.
