Boab Metals (BML) has completed diamond drilling at its Sorby Hills Lead-Silver-Zinc Project in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The phase V drilling program was designed to expand the mining inventory and increase production capacity in the company’s upcoming definitive feasibility study, above 1.5 million tonnes per annum, contemplated in the pre-feasibility study.

All up, 59 drill holes were completed with results reportedly confirming mineralisation extensions at the B and Beta deposits.

At the B deposit, BML highlighted an intersection of six metres at 5.37 per cent lead and 21 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from 50 metres downhole.

From Beta, one drill hole returned 26 metres at 2.58 per cent lead and 25 g/t silver from 53 metres, including two metres at 7.5 per cent lead and 58 g/t silver from 71 metres.

The company was also encouraged by results at the Wildcat deposit with very near-surface, free dig-able mineralisation observed, which it said appeared expandable.

In preparation for the mineral resource estimate, BML said all geological work on the diamond core had been completed, and 1,734 core samples had been submitted and analysed by the laboratory in Darwin.

Boab plans to produce the estimate during the upcoming quarter incorporating the aforementioned results.

Moving forward, the company has begun a 15-hole follow-up reverse circulation drilling program at the Beta deposit, which it said was required to improve the resource classification applicable to this portion of Sorby Hills deposit.

Once completed, Boab said the rig would mobilise south of the project to the Eight Mile Creek Project to test greenfield conceptual targets identified in newly acquired high resolution gravity data.

The company completed a regional soil sampling program over the northeast portion of the Eight Mile Creek tenement and plans to use the results to refine conceptual targets.

Shares were trading grey at 34.5 cents at 9:38am AEST.
