BPM Minerals (BPM) has begun a 3000-metre aircore drilling program at the Santy Gold Project in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

The 61-hole program is kicking off at the Coastal target where 21 holes will be drilled. The Coastal target also includes the main Santy Gold target where previous surface rock chip samples returned up to 100.6 grams of gold per tonne (g/t).

In April this year, the company announced it had identified 17 targets at the project through an independent geological study which used airborne magnetics and satellite imagery.

As a result of the discovery, BPM flagged its intention to undertake 10,000 metres of aircore drilling once a heritage survey was completed around May.

While only 3000 metres of drilling has been confirmed, BPM recently completed targeting activities, including an 838-sample soil geochemistry program, with assays pending. The materials stock expects the pending results will uncover more targets for additional drilling.

BPM Minerals expects the 61-hole program will be completed within three weeks.

Company shares were up 1.47 per cent and trading at 34.5 cents at market close.
