Buru Energy (BRU) has provided an update on the Ungani 8H well being drilled east of Broome.

The well is being drilled by the Ensign 963 drilling rig and is located north-northwest of the Ungani 1 and 2 surface wells and the Ungani production facility.

The company has a 50 per cent equity interest in the well and the L20 Production licence along with Roc Oil.

The company says the 20-inch surface conductor has been successfully set at 49.5 metres measured depth. The well has been drilled ahead to a section depth of 991 metres in a 445-millimetre hole. A 340mm casing has been installed at a measured depth of 988 metres and has been successfully pressure tested.

The current operation is drilling ahead at 1050 metres in a 311-millimetre hole to the 244-millimetre casing setting depth at approximately 2565 metres measured depth at the top of the Ungani Dolomite reservoir section. The Ungani Dolomite horizontal reservoir section will then be drilled in a 216-millimetre hole.

No incidents have occurred in the operations to date.

Shares are trading 6.98 per cent higher today at 23 cents a share at 12.47 pm AEDT.
