Calidus Resources (CAI) has produced the first gold bar from the carbon in leach circuit at its Warrawoona project in Western Australia.

It follows the first gold pour earlier this month and marks the completion of the commissioning stage of the project’s processing circuit.

All up, 33 kilograms of gold was poured.

The processing plant is now fully operational and has reached milling rates of 2.2 million tones per annum.

Calidus is laser-focused on reaching nameplate production with the project ramping up to reach 2.4 million tonnes per annum this quarter.

Managing Director Dave Reeves attributed the successful commissioning to the skills of the Calidus team.

“We wish to thank all Calidus personnel, who, with our key contractors… have allowed us to deliver the Warrawoona gold project on time and on budget,” he said.

“Over the remainder of the quarter, we will focus on our operational ramp-up and other site activities including our active exploration programs that have taken place during the course of development.”

The company is minting a commemorative one ounce gold coin to mark the milestone.

Shares last traded at 81.5 cents on May 16.
