Carnavale Resources (CAV) has launched an “aggressive” reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its McTavish East prospect, situated within the Kookynie gold project in Western Australia.

The company has initiated a 25-hole RC program spanning 5000 metres. This move comes after the receipt of “excellent” high-grade gold extension results from previous drilling, which highlighted significant high-grade gold shoots.

Among the notable results were six metres at 79.21 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 97 metres, along with four metres at 75.74 g/t gold from 114 metres and eight metres at 13.65 g/t gold from 116 metres.

This round of drilling will concentrate on infill and the downward extension of the shoots, with resource definition drilling executed within zones measuring 20 metres by 20 metres.

“The discovery of substantial high-grade gold shoots is a significant achievement for CAV at Kookynie,” Carnavale Resources CEO Humphrey Hale said.

“Our swift response to the outstanding RC drilling results in July has led us to initiate this substantial 5000-metre RC program.”

Carnavale aims to establish a valuable high-grade gold resource within the Kookynie project, aspiring for dimensions similar to those of the historic Cosmopolitan Mine.

Carnavale Resources were up 14.3 per cent, trading at 0.8 cents at 1:00 pm AEST.
