Caspin Resources (CPN) has discovered a new platinum group element prospect at the Yarawindah Brook project in Western Australia.

The prospect, dubbed Vicia, was found on the norther margin of the Yarabrook intrusion, neighbouring the new Serradella discovery where high-grade widths of platinum group element (PGE) and rhodium mineralisation was found.

The finding came from a broad-spaced reverse circulation program, where six holes were drilled over a large PGE soil geochemistry anomaly.

Highlights from the drilling included 32 metres at 0.48 grams per tonne (g/t) PGE from 58 metres including four metres at 1.12 g/t PGE from 81 metres.

The company said the results are “excellent” for a first pass test of the soil anomaly.

“This is a real bonus to what was already a very successful drilling campaign,” Chief Executive Officer Greg Miles said.

“These results are another demonstration of the scale of the opportunity at Yarawindah Brook.

“The Yarabrook Intrusion is developing into a very large mineralised intrusive complex, with over four kilometres of strike and exceptional prospects for further economic discoveries.”

The company said the finding demonstrates the effectiveness of Caspin’s soil geochemistry, with multiple anomalies throughout the Yarawindah Brook project still to be drill tested.

“We’re looking forward to the recommencement of drilling, starting at Serradella, in the coming weeks,” Mr Miles said.

Caspin Resources was up five per cent and trading at 63 cents at 3:16 pm AEDT.
